East Sussex Hearing Resource Centre (ESHRC) was established in 1993. Most of our funding is from Social Services and local Primary Care Trusts; the rest is from donations, grants and legacies. Four of our five members of staff have a hearing loss and more than half of our volunteers are also deaf or hard of hearing.
Our work involves almost all issues to do with Deaf, deafened and deafblind people. As you will see from this website, the services include:
| Communication support Technology for deaf people Advocacy Lipreading Sign Language Cued Speech | Communication groups Hearing aid maintenance Hearing aid batteries Home visits Outreach Deaf Outreach Service |
Above all, our Centre is a sanctuary for deaf people, where time is taken to communicate as easily as possible. Access to the Centre is easy - all on one level - and everyone is welcomed as soon as they step inside.
