The Outreach Worker travels throughout the county, running hard of hearing groups and visiting people in their own homes. Volunteers also provide basic hearing aid maintenance and batteries in various places across the county.
If you think that you would benefit from advice and information about any aspect of deafness but are unable to get out of your home due to illness or mobility problems, our Outreach Worker may be able to visit you. Please contact us for more information.
The hard of hearing groups are held at several venues in East Sussex. Here, people can meet other deaf and hard of hearing people and their families in a friendly easy-to-communicate atmosphere. Communication tactics are explained, environmental aids are demonstrated and advice, information and support are all freely given. Selected speakers attend to give talks on many deaf issues. Why not come along?
